Our Story
The legacy behind the name
Neil Adams Construction is a family-owned and operated business that was founded by Neil Adams and his wife, Jennifer, in 1981. From the very beginning, they built a reputation for trustworthy, quality work and a passion for helping people achieve their dream homes. Over 40 years later, Neil and Jennifer’s legacy carries on today through their children, Lindsey and Michael. The family mourned Neil’s passing in March of 2023, but they continue to carry on the work he started.

Michael Adams
Neil and Jennifer’s first child, Michael, grew up working the odd jobs for his parents’ company. After working several summers for other companies specializing in roofing, Michael spent a few years working for a framing contractor, specializing in various trades. Additionally, he built three spec homes during his free time (after work and on his weekends), honing his skills in all areas of construction. In 2007, Michael returned to Neil Adams Construction, earning a spot as project manager. After Neil's passing, Michael took the reins of the company as President and is following in his father's footsteps creating beautiful homes throughout the Reno/Tahoe area.
Lindsey Adams
Neil and Jennifer’s youngest child, Lindsey, has been helping clean up construction sites almost as long as she can remember. She has since learned the ropes of the office from Jennifer, working her way up from office assistant to administrative manager to Secretary/Treasurer after Jennifer's retirement. She has been an integral part in merging the ways of the old filing systems with the new digital age in order for the company to continue improving and expanding. In May of 2026, she earned her Master of Business Administration from Western Governors University and looks forward to putting her education to use in running the business side of the company.
Mark Salley, the Honorary Adams
Mark started working for Neil Adams Construction in 1985, when the company had been in business for less than five years, and he’s worked for the company ever since. Through his dedication to Neil Adams Construction and close work with Neil himself, Mark has earned his place as an honorary member of the Adams family. Today, Mark synchronizes projects and creates beautiful homes as a project manager.
Jennifer Adams
Jennifer was a math whiz as a child and continued to love numbers as she grew up. She worked a few bookkeeping jobs before she and Neil decided to create their own company. When Jennifer and Neil created Adams Construction Co. in 1981, Jennifer was a stay at home mom and a work at home mom. She multi tasked throughout her children’s formative years at their home, building the company from the ground up by Neil’s side. She was instrumental in helping keep the company afloat during the recession and all the tumultuousness that the construction industry faced throughout the years. She worked relentlessly throughout 40+ years, putting her heart and soul into the company and graciously retired in June of 2025. Although she doesn't work the day to day operations any more, Michael and Lindsey still consult with her.
